MF
MF is an artist.
Drawing and painting are her main interests.
Regarding painting, she likes exploring different techniques such as watercolour, oil painting and more recently acrylic pouring.
Creative brief with MF
She hates signing her pieces though.
So she needed a logo-like signature, ideally one that could become a stamp she could easily use with some paint as ink for example.
Of course, no icon was necessary since she only wanted to use her initials MF.
Design options & choices
Considering her eclectic personality, like her, I tried many ideas and explored many avenues to come up with those concepts.
Refinement
Initially seduced by the originality of the Morse code signature, she eventually chose the 3rd concept because of its sleek, nostalgic character (she recognized her father’s handwriting there).
This concept is made of a single continuous line. The thought was to create a signature that could be traced with a unique brushstroke.
As no colouring was required, the only refining was a slight thickening of the line.
