Design Process
Communication and active listening are essential for each project.
Once that is established, though each project may differ depending on the requested services, the design process will mostly follow the same steps.
Design process for a Logo & Brand Identity project
Here are the main steps required for such a project.
1. First contact & Quotation
First, you fill in the contact form and explain what your project is about in your own words.
After receiving it, I send you back a detailed questionnaire. Your answers to this questionnaire will be the core of our first meeting, either face-to-face or in a videoconference.
At the end of our meeting, I will compile all your inputs and conduct a thorough analysis.
This analysis, the cornerstone of your project, will allow me to send you a quotation along with my terms and conditions for you to agree and sign.
After your agreement, a 50% payment is requested to begin working on the project.
2. Research
To further explore your brand environment, I conduct thorough research of your competition and similar brands.
At the same time, I will also explore common and best practices in your activity sector.
At this stage, I assemble my research results into a mood board and other documents.
Then I begin idea exploration through mind mapping.
Doing so allows me to put your brand in perspective and provide you with the best strategy to apply.
3. Concepts
I am now ready to sharpen my pencil and draw the main ideas that have already emerged from the research.
Iterative -and sometimes digressive- drawing usually leads to two to three concepts.
Next, I transform those into vector files so I can share them as PDF files.
I provide each concept with all explanations on how and why they came to life and are being presented to you. You can then choose the concept that suits you the best.
4. Refinement
This step is optional when you are already fully satisfied with the chosen concept.
In case the concept needs to be refined, I will do so by considering your remarks while keeping a focused eye on the strategy we will have defined earlier in the project.
Each project offers 3 rounds of revision.
During a round of revision:
If more than 3 rounds of revision are necessary to validate the final design, additional costs will be billed.
5. Additional work
After the logo has been finalised and agreed upon, I build the logo guide or the brand style guide.
Depending on the ordered package, I begin designing additional features and complete the brand style guide accordingly.
The brand style guide should is a reference guide and a communication tool for your brand. It will hold together all your brand attributes and allow you to give clear guidance when collaborating or soliciting new services around your brand.
6. Launch
Once all additional features are finalised, I construct an archive file containing all deliverables.
This archive is sent to you after the final payment.
Design process for a Website project
Web design is based on brand identity.
Thus it can only begin when the brand is fully in place and documented.
At first, the logo or brand style guide will provide the necessary guidance to ensure the website takes its own place in the brand universe.
But then the most imposing task is to identify, organise and structure the content you want or need to display on your website.
All in all, designing a website is a pretty rich process and deserves a dedicated website.
Since this other website is currently under construction, for the time being, please use this contact form.
